In a much-anticipated announcement, Australia has revealed its squad for the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan, set to take place in November.
With a fresh captain yet to be appointed, the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) has chosen to rest key Test players, focusing their efforts on the shorter format.
Pakistan’s tour of Australia will feature a thrilling lineup of three ODIs followed by three T20 internationals, scheduled for November 14, 16, and 18.
Australia’s T20 roster boasts an exciting mix of talent, including Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, Matthew Short, Sean Abbott, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Josh Inglis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardie, and Spencer Johnson. Cricket Australia has indicated that any T20 players who are selected for the Test squad will seamlessly join their teammates in preparation for the forthcoming matches.
Notably, several prominent Test players have been left out of the T20 lineup as they gear up for the crucial Test series against India, ensuring that Australia’s strategy is finely tuned for both formats.

On the flip side, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also made headlines, announcing its squad for the ODI and T20I series against Australia. Former captain Babar Azam returns, joined by pacers Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, while senior batter Fakhar Zaman has been dropped from the squad.
In an exciting leadership change, Mohammad Rizwan has been appointed as the new captain, with Salman Ali Agha stepping in as vice-captain for the Australian tour.
Despite being sidelined for the last two Tests against England, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah have made the cut for the white-ball series. However, they will miss the six white-ball matches in Zimbabwe following this tour, as the PCB focuses on optimizing their lineup for the challenges ahead.
