BPL to Start on December 30 | GSL 24 Edge for Rangpur Riders

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is back for its 11th edition, with play beginning on December 30, 2024, and culminating in a grand finale on February 7, 2025.

Driven by the commitment of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and full support from the Bangladesh Government, this season aims to showcase excellence in cricket and bring top talent into the global spotlight.

The player lineup for each team was meticulously curated during the player draft held on October 14 in Dhaka, where franchises selected talent to form competitive squads.

While fan favorites like Rangpur Riders, Sylhet Strikers, Khulna Tigers, and reigning champions Fortune Barishal return to the BPL, this season’s mix also sees the comeback of the Chittagong Kings after 11 years. Additionally, two new franchises Dhaka Capitals and Durbar Rajshahi are joining the league, promising an even fiercer contest and fresh matchups.

With the goal of a seamless fan experience, the BCB is implementing a full-fledged e-ticketing system, marking a first for the BPL and setting a standard for streamlined ticketing in the region.

The BPL, traditionally a stage for emerging stars and seasoned players alike, offers a particularly valuable platform for teams like Rangpur Riders.

Riders, before the BPL 2024-25 will also participate in the Global Super League T20, where they will compete against elite franchise teams such as the Guyana Amazon Warriors from the Caribbean, Pakistan’s Lahore Qalandars, Hampshire Hawks from England, and Victoria from Australia.

GSL 2024 not only strengthens the Riders’ roster but also provides essential practice for competing with their fellow teams in BPL.
