Arthur brings a wealth of experience to Rangpur, having recently served as head coach for Dambulla Aura in the Lanka Premier League. He also holds the position of director of cricket at Derbyshire and has previously managed several national teams, including South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.
Shanian Taneem, the team director for Rangpur Riders, expressed enthusiasm about Arthur’s addition. “We have secured Mickey for both the GSL and BPL this year,” he stated. “It’s a one-year contract, and we’re excited about what he will bring to the team. The local players are eager to learn from him. We’ve been coordinating with Mickey for the past week to strengthen our squad for these tournaments, and his proactive involvement has been invaluable.”
Taneem further highlighted Arthur’s compatibility with the team’s culture, praising his approachable demeanor and extensive experience. “Mickey is a friendly individual, and I believe he will greatly benefit our Bangladeshi cricketers. His vast knowledge from coaching various international sides will be an asset to us.”
Notably, Arthur has previous experience in the Bangladesh Premier League, having coached the Dhaka Dynamites in 2015, adding to his extensive coaching portfolio.
